The Low Oxalate Cookbook can be ordered on Amazon as an eBook or paperback. The recipes are neither fancy nor gourmet; home cooking the low oxalate way in The Low Oxalate Cookbook. Recipes include: breakfast, lunch, dinner, side dishes, appetizers, salads, snacks and dessert. Yes, even desserts can be low oxalate!

No more lists (except one!) Low oxalate for these recipes is defined by the oxalate values in the Harvard list by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.  I can hear your frustration navigating the medical field, your kidney stone(s), different lists, food preferences and pre-existing conditions all while researching the relationship between oxalates and kidney stones. It can be a part time job and The Low Oxalate Cookbook was designed to make your meal preparation easier and less stressful.

How To Eat A Low Oxalate Menu

My favorite low oxalate resource is the University of Chicago Kidney web site. A wealth of information covering all aspects of kidney stones and most importantly addressing the techniques for prevention. The Harvard list is also available on the University of Chicago site and the gold standard article to begin a low oxalate journey is How To Eat A Low Oxalate Diet by Jill Harris and Dr. Fred Coe.

Low Oxalate Foodies Facebook Group

Join our low oxalate foodies group on Facebook to discuss recipes, food ingredients, the food challenges of a low oxalate diet or feel free to browse for menu ideas. The journey is a marathon, but one you can and will manage. Grocery shopping can be overwhelming at first when a low oxalate diet is introduced, but as time progresses you will be able to grocery shop almost without lists while taking into consideration food preferences and any medical restrictions you may have to consider.

This is an awesome resource for anyone who is at risk for kidney stones! I know how hard it can be to cook for someone whose health requires them to avoid certain foods. Sharing widely 🙂

Salmon, cauliflower, and watermelon! All my favorite and I’ll definitely check into these recipes. Kidney stones are not fun!
