An easy twist on marshmallow creme fudge for the holidays! Easy Fudge cups are perfect for any day, any holiday and a great way to serve fudge at parties. I have found fudge cups are actually easier in many ways than cutting fudge into squares.

Fudge isn’t just for the holidays! The original Fantasy Fudge recipe (not the imposter!) is the traditional chocolate fudge recipe for the Christmas holidays. But we love fudge so much and the batch goes so quick at Christmas that I started making Fantasy Fudge throughout the year!

Fantasy Fudge cups can be decorated for any holiday or occasion. I decorated the fudge cups with hearts for Valentine’s Day and they were a crowd pleaser. Fudge cups are a great way to serve individual size portions of fudge as a mini dessert.

How To Make Fudge Cups With The Original Fantasy Fudge Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 cups semi chocolate chips (I use Tollhouse for the original recipe)
  • 1  jar of marshmallow crème, Kraft jet puffed 7 oz. jar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Chopped nuts are optional
  • Mini Cupcake liners
  • Cake or cupcake Decorations for the holiday

Directions

  1. Follow the directions for the Original Fantasy Fudge Recipe.
  2. Fudge sets up quickly so prepare the cupcake baking pans with liners before making fudge so the pans are ready to go as soon as the fudge is finished.
  3. After the finished fudge is removed from the stove the fudge can be scooped into liners. I use a large serving spoon.
  4. The fudge will set up in the cupcakes liners almost immediately so how the fudge is put into the liners is representative of how the finished fudge cup will look.
  5. After one cupcake pan of fudge cups is filled the decorations should be immediately added.
  6. For Valentine’s Day I like the jumbo pink and red candy hearts. I’ve yet to find these hearts in the brick and mortar stores so online ordering is necessary.

For a quick set put the cupcake pans into the refrigerator. If storing the fudge cups in the refrigerator the fudge cups should be warmed to room temperature prior to serving.

Can You Freeze Fudge Cups?

Yes you can! The fudge cups are very freezer friendly. However, the fudge cups should be individually wrapped in plastic wrap and then put into a freezer bag or wrapped in foil to ensure no freezer burn occurs.
