Did I hear Halloween Puffcorn? My absolute favorite Halloween treat. So easy, so quick so darn yummy and only three ingredients make this out of the world Halloween snack. This is the Halloween party food everyone asks for the recipe.

Halloween puffcorn kernels.

I have found that Halloween sprinkles and candy eyeballs can take on their own personality in this Halloween treat. Not to mention a wee bit of Halloween humor.

After sprinkling the puffcorn with Halloween candy decoration with no design in mind and then taking a closer look… What do you see?!?

Halloween decorated puffcorn, puffcorn with white chocolate and Halloween orange, black, purple sprinkles

And then we found a mouse! And fozzie bear! And a clown! And then we ate them all :)-

We all got a well deserved 2020 chuckle when turning our Puffcorn into a puzzle of “What Do You See?”

No Bake Halloween Recipe

I love to keep an easy no bake recipe in the rotation, This recipe requires no baking (I’m not counting the 1 minute of microwaving!) and two store bought ingredients.

Well  – three ingredients if you count the decorative sprinkles which I usually have already in the pantry. One bag of puffcorn, white chocolate chips or almond bark plus your decorative sprinkles and you are ready to assemble the Halloween Puffcorn Treats.

There are a few brands of Puffcorn easily found at the grocery or big box store or online. I am particularly fond of Chester’s Butter Flavored as this puffcorn mimics theater buttered popcorn, but without the kernels.

Halloween Puffcorn Is The Alternative to Halloween Popcorn

Puffcorn is a great treat for those who like the taste of popcorn, but not the kernels as puffcorn is hullless. The consistency is like a cheese puff, but popcorn flavored! Great alternative to popcorn for those who prefer or need a softer consistency and miss the yumminess of popcorn.

Ingredients

1 bag of Puffcorn

White chocolate chips or candy melts

Halloween decorations or sprinkles

Directions

I’ve expanded the series of Holiday Puffcorn recipes throughout the year due to the popularity and affordability of the snack. Between kids parties, volunteer activities, socials, parties and family events; do you ever walk out of the door without a dish to bring to something!

  1. Spread the puffcorn in a single layer on a lined cookie sheet(s). I’d recommend lining the cookie sheets with wax or parchment paper. I happen to prefer Reynolds brand parchment paper.
  2. Melt the white chocolate or almond bark in the microwave. Time depends upon the strength of your microwave. I melt the chocolate in 30 second increments.
  3. Drizzle the melted white chocolate or almond bark over puffcorn with a spoon. I use a wooden spoon. How much white chocolate to coat the puffcorn with is a taste preference. If you are decorating the puffcorn with sprinkles you do want drizzle enough chocolate to allow the sprinkles to adhere.
  4. If desired and of course optional is using decorative sprinkles to add color or go with a theme. Change up the sprinkles for the holiday, season or event. For the Halloween Puffcorn Treats I use the multi pack of sprinkles by Wilton in the Halloween theme.
  5. Place your cookie sheets into the refrigerator and  set for about 10 minutes. It does not take long for the treat to set and harden. No worries if the treats are left in the refrigerator longer.
  6. Remove cookie sheets from refrigerator. Break apart the puffcorn into the sizes desired.
  7. Store in an airtight container.  The puffcorn can also be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Need Individual Servings?

I have a huge affinity for the Butter flavored Puffcorn (tastes like you are at the movies!) Any plain or butter flavored puffcorn works.

The Halloween “cupcake” Puffcorn was a huge hit last year and really works well for the stay at home Halloween activities this year. Just follow the directions below to make Halloween Puffcorn and break apart the puffcorn into sizes to fill your cupcake liners.

Kids Halloween Recipe

This is a great recipe to involve kids in making the recipe. With the exception of melting the chocolate, kids of all ages can participate in making and decorating the treats. The Halloween Pufforn recipe plus the Halloween Bark recipe will feed a crowd!

For Halloween parties whether adults or kids, I make party favors with cellophane bags and ribbon as a take home gift; the treat is that popular that when served at a party everyone wants the recipe.
