Halloween Glitter Painted Pumpkin

Love this Halloween craft for Fall pumpkin decorations. Let the glitter fly! And fly it does which is why making a Halloween Glitter Painted Pumpkin outside is highly preferable. I like glitter! What I do not like is the aftermath of using glitter when making glitter pumpkin crafts. This Halloween pumpkin craft is easy on the glitter!

It is amazing the places glitter finds once it is airborn…. Even though I made this glitter pumpkin outside I was still finding those little devilish glitter specks in the oddest of places.

How To Make A Glitter Painted Pumpkin Craft

This is an continuation of the DIY Marbled Pumpkins I made with nail polish. While I was marbling a few pumpkins I came across a bottle of glitter glue and a few small vials of glitter in my craft stash.

I did not have enough glitter to make the traditional glitter pumpkin craft so I improvised and made a glitter pumpkin with a small amount of glitter.

Materials

Glitter glue or craft glue

Glitter

Small craft pumpkin

Spray paint (color of your choice, I used white)

Directions

Spray the craft pumpkin with white spray paint and let dry.

These are my favorite small craft pumpkins. Each package has 10 3.15 inch craft pumpkins.

After your the painted pumpkin has dried the glitter fun begins!

Line each crevice in the pumpkin with glue – one by one!

This does take a bit of patience. I found using gravity is very helpful.

Drop a nice size dollop of glue at the top of the crevice and slightly tip the pumpkin down so gravity will make the glue naturally travel down the crevice.  Gravity is your friend for this Halloween craft.

Repeat for each crevice.

I filled the top of the pumpkin with glue and covered the stem with glue.

Now let the glitter fly!

Dry. I let the glitter pumpkin dry overnight. The drying time will depend upon the weather and how much glue was used.

Part of the charm of the glitter pumpkin is the glitter; you can be as neat or not quite as neat as desired with the glue! It of course also depends upon the “glue operator”.

The fun of glitter is just letting it fly and it will find the glue. If you want the glitter lines on the pumpkin to be precise the craft will definitely take longer. This is a craft that is a great Fall activity for kids. Let the glitter fly outside (and not in the house!)

Dollar Store Alert! Check your Dollar Store or Dollar Tree for craft supplies. My local store always has a great selection of craft glues, glitter and glitter glue.

The self adhesive jewel rhinestone  stickers are an easy Pumpkin Hack for quick decorating. Just peel and stick to the mini pumpkins!
