Yikes! What to do with all that junk? Garage sale leftovers? Old appliances? Concrete? Renovation scrap materials? Junk removal can be the bane of all DIY’ers whether it be a home renovation , a clean out and reorganization of the home or outdoor construction projects. On demand junk removal services provide an efficient and convenient service to quickly remove unwanted items from your home and property.
It is very fortunate for the intrepid DIY’er that more than one company offers niche junk removal all with the click of the mouse button or a phone call.
I’ve had a few large DIY projects which generated materials that required disposal. The materials were too big for trash day, too heavy to move, in disrepair for a charity donation, large and cumbersome, but yet not enough volume to justify a dumpster rental. For different reasons and different junk removal problems I have utilized these on demand junk removal services and remain very satisfied.
1-800-JUNK Removal Service
Unexpected home repairs can bring unexpected junk! An innocent request for the handyman to inspect a leaking laundry tub turned into a new laundry tub which led to needing assistance to remove the remnants of the old tub.
The remnant was a concrete laundry tub now marooned in the basement; the size and girth of this concrete tub led to speculation the house was built around this monster tub!
The first problem was the weight. Heavy! The laundry tub was all concrete reinforced with steel with an estimated weight of over 300 pounds. This was the original laundry tub with a 1950’s house. Now what? I recalled seeing the ads for 1-800-Got-Junk? and surfed over to their website to see what services were offered.
1-800-Got-Junk Junk Removal Service
After reviewing the 1-800-Got-Junk? website I then did a quick check of their availability with the easy to use online scheduler. I also investigated their local competitors including a budget moving service which said a crew of four would be needed and that was neither plausible nor cost efficient.
I decided to call 1-800-Got-Junk? to investigate further if the laundry tub was in their wheelhouse for junk removal and hauling.
Quick And Efficient Junk Removal 1-800-Got-Junk?
After describing the laundry tub to the customer service representative and receiving a cost estimate I was informed the crew would need to look over the item when they arrived to confirm whether it could be removed due to the weight.
I made an appointment for 1.5 days later with no problem. Of course I wanted to also take the opportunity to rid the house of those pesky items too big for the trash or too heavy to move that tend to accumulate over time.
I was given a two hour window for arrival when making the appointment which I greatly appreciated versus the (ahem) cable company who gives a four hour window. The crew called as promised when in route.
Upon arrival we toured the junk to be removed and it was decided that the tub could be removed if they could break it apart with a sledgehammer. Permission granted!
I’d have loved to take the tub and make it into an outside planter, but just not reasonable at this time (and immovable!). It is such a pleasure when a company delivers what is promised. The experience was hassle free, easy to book, the crew was early, removal of items went flawlessly and we said a happy farewell to the junk. Mission accomplished and thank you to our local 1-800-Got-Junk? team for their efficient service.
The Bagster
Next on the DIY list was an old wooden deck. With the robust building economy dumpsters are difficult to schedule and rent in this urban area and the carpenter suggested The Bagster for junk removal.
The Bagster is a very large bag which can be purchased online or at the local big box store. The Bagster I purchased cost $29.95.
The Bagster holds 3 cubic yards of anything and everything from your home or office that is on the approved Bagster list of acceptable items. The list of acceptable items is large and exhaustive.
The purchase of the bag is the first cost; users must plan ahead to also pay for the junk removal. Waste Management rubbish removal who services our area also picks up and disposes of The Bagster; cost varies per location.
There are some limitations with the actual picking up of The Bagster regarding location as a specially equipped truck with a crane is used. The Bagster directions clearly state the specifications and it is highly advised to read the instructions prior to purchasing the bag to ensure your property can be serviced. College Hunks Hauling Junk
College Hunks offers on demand junk removal with the added service of moving items in the home. This was a huge bonus for a project which required moving several items in the home which had multiple floors and also utilizing removing very large items.
A few pieces of furniture were suitable for donation, but were located on the second floor. While there are many charities in the area which pick up furniture it is required the furniture is on the main level.
College Hunks moved the furniture to the main floor and by the door so the charity could then be scheuled for the donation.
Junk Removal Prices
A frequent question when chatting with friends is how much does it cost? Just like seeking quotes from a moving company the cost varies per project; however all the quotes from the companies were accurate.
The straightforward jobs can be easily scheduled online. Depending upon the specifications of the job then a phone call may be warranted to the customer service department prior to scheduling the service.
Junk Removal Promo Codes And Coupons
Say yes to the junk removal coupons and promo codes! I utilized both for all three services. The promo codes can be found online by searching the company name and coupon or promo code.
The Bagster promo code offered an additional monetary incentive to schedule The Bagster pick up online which was utilized.
1-800-Got Junk and College Hunks also advertise in the monthly advertising packet of coupons which arrive in the mail.
