Woof! DIY Reindeer Ornament From Dog Bones!

I’ve traveled through many a Reindeer Christmas Craft and as a dog lover I just found this Reindeer Ornament way way too cute to pass up! A few materials and a little glue and you are on your way! I would forewarn if you are a dog lover with one or a few furballs at home this is a craft better completed without the presence of your furry loved ones. My dog eyeballed the box of dog bones the  moment I entered the house and has been circling the ‘area’ of the box ever since… just wondering… probably plotting.

Reindeer Ornaments made from dog bones.

Fun DIY Reindeer craft. Make a reindeer ornament from dog bones to add a smile to your tree this season!

The same goes for hanging the Dog Bone Reindeer as an ornament unless you want the tree attacked with vigor by a furry interloper. I know I don’t have to say this to dog owners, but the reindeer is not edible and safety first! How I love to use the Dog Bone Reindeer is as a gift box topper or Secret Santa gift for dog fans as it brings a smile to their face with this quirky little craft.

How To Make Reindeer Ornament

Materials

4 dog bones (I used small size dog bones)

2 googly eyes per ornament

Brown pipe cleaner

Small jingle bells optional

Thin red cord or ribbon ( I use clear fishing line)

pom pom

Glue! Reindeer Face

After the glue has dried, glue on the nose and glue on the eyes.  When working with small crafts I highly recommend a set of craft tweezers to help the process go smoothly.

Glue The Antlers

From the brown pipe cleaner make two antlers. One standard size pipe cleaner will make 4 antlers. I free form the antlers after cutting the pipe cleaner in quarters. Attach to back of the reindeer head.

Attach Hanger (optional)

Tie invisible wire or colored cord around the body of the reindeer.  Another option is to use clear thread, I prefer the clear fishing line/filament as it adds substance to the ornament hanger. If desired thread a bell through the wire and attach to back of reindeer.

Make A non Traditional Reindeer ornament. Anything goes as in whatever pom pom colors or pipe cleaners you have on hand can make this Reindeer Christmas Ornament.
