Thanksgiving leftovers in this house must include Grandma’s Mini Stuffing Balls! These yummy bite size stuffing balls are so easy to make and bake and enjoy. Another of Grandma’s old fashioned Thanksgiving recipes that are a tradition for the weekend after the big day.

Plate in shape of a turkey with mini stuffing balls arranged on plate. Pumpkins are behind the plate.

There is never a leftover that goes unused with Grandma and she passed along that tradition. The mini stuffing balls can also use leftover turkey to make make a turkey stuffing ball. Or top leftover turkey slices with gravy and mashed potatoes with a few stuffing balls for a twist.

Sure, leftover stuffing can be just reheated, but the stuffing tends to be dry. Stuffing is always better the second day and stuffing balls add back in moisture plus the crisp!

How to Make Grandma’s Mini Stuffing Balls

Ingredients

Makes 12-18 stuffing balls.

5 cups leftover stuffing

1 egg

Diced Turkey optional

Bread crumbs optional

Mini muffin pan

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Add stuffing to a mixing bowl.
  4. Whip one egg in a separate bowl and add to the stuffing in the bowl.
  5. Mix the eggs and stuffing together (add diced turkey here if desired) and mix with your hands. Like a meatloaf!
  6. Decide upon the size of your mini stuffing balls. One inch wide, one inch tall works well which is a ball which fits into the middle of the palm of your hand.
  7. Rolling the balls in bread crumbs is optional, but adds a nice bit of crunch to the stuffing. I usually make a 1/2 and 1/2 batch of breaded and no breaded stuffing balls.Spray a mini muffin pan with cooking spray. Place one ball per muffin cup.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes at 375 degrees. The breaded stuffing balls will be lightly browned. Can leave in additional 5 minutes if a deeper breaded color is desired.
  9. Remove and enjoy!

Can You Cut The Recipe In Half ?

Yes. You bet. This recipe is very flexible. Two to three cups of leftover stuffing easily work. To adjust the egg the easiest way to use 1/2 of an egg is to crack the egg in a cup and whisk/mix. Then pour 1/2 of the egg into the bowl. So simple!

The measurement of the one half of an egg doesn’t have to be exact. An ish will work. If you need additional moisture for the stuffing balls to hold together you can add a splash of water.

Serving Ideas For Thanksgiving Leftovers

Mini stuffing balls pairs well – of course- with leftover cranberry sauce or cranberry chutney.

Serve the stuffing balls on a mini plate placed on top of a dollop of cranberry sauce. Yum and so cute! Thanksgiving leftover dishes need to be quick and easy and this recipe is right in the lane.

Another favorite dish for Thanksgiving Leftovers is the Turkey Mini Pot Pie, but the Galette version. Again post Thanksgiving meals need to be easy and this recipe combines all the leftovers in a free form crust to make a mini pot pie. So easy!
