Fun and creative home activity for kids! Only two ingredients are needed to make edible Ice Cream Playdough! Choose the color and the decorations to make personalized ice cream cones for an ice cream party to remember. Stay at home ice cream parties are a great way to involve the kids for a fun and yummy treat.
School vacations can be a challenge to come up with new activities to keep the kids entertained. Staying at home with the family can bring a new twist to keeping the kids entertained. How about a twist on the traditional tea party by switching things up and hosting an interactive ice cream party with the kids.
Make it a Zoom play dough party with everyone sharing their playdoh ice cream via a Zoom Ice Cream Party. (Hint: In the summer a ice cream bowl party set can be used, but this is a great time to troll through the summer plastic ware and utilize it for a Birthday party or Stay At Home Ice Cream Party.)
Add two ingredients plus cute ice cream bowls and let the ice cream party begin! Any bowl or any ice cream cone will work!
How To Make Ice Cream Play Dough
Ingredients
-
- Frosting (any flavor or color you choose) either store bought or homemade
- Powdered Sugar
- Sprinkles optional
- Ice cream cone or waffle cones or ice cream cones or bowls
Directions
Attach the dough hook to your mixer.
Mix until the soon to be ice cream dough is well combined.
As you mix you will notice the consistency of the mix will resemble just like when you mix ice cream.
If your mix still feels sticky to the touch, slowly add powdered sugar 2 tablespoons at a time until the ice cream playdough can be picked up without the mixture sticking to your hands.
The Goal: To be able to pick up the ice cream playdough without the dough sticking to your hands!
Assembly Tip:
If your ice cream dough mixture is either too dry or too crumbly simply add a dash of olive oil to firm up the dough and let the happy ice cream cone assembly begin!
Decorating Ideas Play Dough Ice Cream Shop
Bring out your sprinkles, jimmies and cake decorating doo dads to decorate the ice cream cones or bowls. I love these little bowls and scoops for the kids to make their own play dough ice cream shop. Too cute!
The ice cream playdough is edible so no worries about licking the fingers during making the playdough. The playdough is edible but sugar alert as well; we use this as a fun DIY and make an ice cream bar to make an event out of the DIY.
