Against All Grains Celebration cookbook review. All Gluten-Free, dairy free and paleo recipes for every holiday.

Organization By Holiday

I love the theme of Celebrations with the recipes are organized by holidays.  This reflects the theme of the book that traditional recipes and family favorites can be tweaked to make the recipes gluten-free. Simply page through the book to find your holiday and you will find an entire menu of your family favorites along with enticing photos sure to inspire.

Tips And Suggestions For Gluten-Free, Paleo Cooking

Tips and suggestions are included in the front and back of the book which are clear, concise and informative. Against All Grain Celebrations is chock full of explanations behind the ingredients and tips  as to the brands and type of ingredients used in each recipe. These tips are extremely helpful for a beginner gluten-free cook.

Danielle Walker anticipates the questions for those who are new to a gluten-free lifestyle or cooking and delivers the answers in an easy to understand conversational style. Experienced cooks will also find useful tips and suggestions to enhance their cooking and find new ideas to expand their menu for family, friends and guests.

Gluten-Free Baking Against All Grain Celebrations

Baking with gluten-free flour can be a distinct challenge. It is easy to be overwhelmed by the different brands of gluten-free flours available. The author concisely explains the differences between the flours as well as the baking techniques necessary to successfully bake a gluten-free bread or dessert.

The author explains her reasoning behind preferring certain brands of flours; I appreciate the authors forthrightness to recommend certain brands for specific recipes and she explains the whys behind her recommendations. The author emphasizes that when she developed and tested the recipes she found certain brands performed better hence the recommendations.

This is a wonderful book for the cook who is not particularly gluten-free friendly but would like to make recipes for family and friends who are gluten-free and/or paleo.  Danielle Walker’s Against All Grain Celebrations: A Year of Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, and Paleo Recipes for Every Occasion truly offers a recipe for every occasion and delivers what the author promised.

I look forward to trying many of the recipes in this book and have no reason to not anticipate success. I know my efforts will be duly appreciated by my gluten-free and paleo friendly guests.

I received this book from the Blogging for Books program in exchange for an unbiased review.
