The Bread Baker’s Apprentice by Peter Reinhart is a luxurious and informative book celebrating the art of making and baking bread. Whether you are a ย novice or an experienced bread maker you will not be disappointed by this cookbook.

More Than A Cookbook

The Bread Baker’s Apprentice is more than a traditional cookbook. This book is full of detailed instruction and the why before the how of bread baking techniques for each type of recipe. I appreciate the thorough explanation and the detail the author included with each recipe. I doubt a reader will have any questions left unanswered after reading this book.

Review of The Bread Baker's Apprentice. A book any bread lover or baker will love!

Photo Essay Of How To’s

I loved the step by step photos of each technique. I tend to be a visual learner and the photos enhance the written direction which is particularly helpful when learning a new technique. If you are a fan of braided loaves then you will be left wanting to attempt the technique after viewing the beautiful loaves throughout this book.

Who Said Bagel?

I learned more about bagels than I bargained for when I turned to the New York bagel recipe. I love good bagels and have always entertained the idea to try and make homemade bagels and now I have the knowledge and inspiration to attempt making bagels.

I also learned from the history of bagels that I am a fan of the New York style bagel which is crunchy on the outside with a moist inside versus the soft and chewy bagel. I can’t wait to try the New York bagel recipe and to taste the results.

Perfect Holiday Gift

I highly recommend The Bread Baker’s Apprentice as a gift for the bread loving foodie in your life or a student interested in the culinary arts. It is a cookbook worth adding to your library and I know I’d love to receive this book as a gift.

I received this book from the Blogging for Books program in exchange for an unbiased review.
