Pueblo, Colorado continues to make the lists for the most affordable places to retire due to its’ climate, location, affordability and livability scores. Located where the Arkansas River and Fountain Creek meet, Pueblo is 112 miles south of Denver and enjoys a moderate climate in the Banana Belt.

Pueblo Levee Mural Project is a three mile mural which runs along the levee of the Arkansas River. The mural is certified by the Guinness Book of Records as the longest painting in the world.
Chile & Frijoles Festival is the annual event which celebrates the harvest. The festival is held in late September and sponsored by the Pueblo Chamber of Commerce. Pueblo is known for its green chilies and pinto beans (frijoles.)
Colorado State Fair is held in late August and its Colorado’s largest event.
Pueblo is home to the Historical Arkansas River Project, a river walk along the union avenue historical district. It’s also being called the state’s top spot for solar energy, with the largest wind turbine plant in the world in its near future as well.
