You’ve made your purchase. You are happy with your purchase. Until you discover the once happy purchase has now gone on sale. This does not make for a happy consumer; however, many retail stores do recognize that a happy customer will be a return customer.
And I do understand that policies do need to be in place for retail returns and price adjustments. But finding the Crate & Barrel Price Adjustment policy can be a challenge!
Crate And Barrel Furniture Purchase
We purchased three pieces of furniture from Crate and Barrel for a significant cost. The items were purchased online. The transaction went fairly smoothly and delivery was offered in approximately two weeks. Furniture was delivered, the communication was very good between notification and delivery.
Fast forward a few weeks and once again I was surfing the Crate and Barrel website with the intent to purchase tables to coordinate with the recent purchase. While surfing for tables and on a surfing whim, I clicked over to one of the chairs received less than two weeks prior and discovered the chair was now on clearance. The clearance price was $200.00 less than the purchase price. Significant and noteworthy.
I looked at the Crate and Barrel site for the price adjustment policy, but was unable to locate the policy. I immediately contacted customer service and requested a price adjustment. Seemed like a reasonable request I thought. My intent was to quote the price adjustment policy except I could not find the price adjustment policy on the website or on the paperwork I received with the furniture.
Crate And Barrel Price Adjustment Policy
The question I raised to customer service was specifically where could I find the price adjustment policy?
The answer I received to my first inquiry was that my price adjustment was denied as the request did not fall within the 14 day price adjustment policy. So I received an answer – in part – that a 14 day price adjustment policy exists. But where could I as a customer find the policy? Which led to a second email asking the case be “reopened” and once again I requested specifically where could I find the printed language of the Crate and Barrel price adjustment policy.
A few days later I received a phone call from Crate and Barrel and a voicemail was left stating the same company line; the purchase does not fall within the 14 day window for a price adjustment. No mention of exactly where I could find this stealth Crate and Barrel price adjustment policy. I do appreciate the communication and response however.
Crate And Barrel Facebook
In the meantime, between emails one and two I contacted Crate and Barrel on Facebook and asked as to where I could find a published Crate and Barrel price adjustment policy? I received a response within 4 hours which stated the price adjustment policy is at the discretion of Crate and Barrel. Discretion? Surfing through various retail online sites, it was quite easy to find their respective price adjustment policies. However Crate and Barrel’s price adjustment policy is a stealthy one to locate.
Crate And Barrel Price Stealth Adjustment Policy
So to summarize, Crate and Barrel allegedly has a price adjustment policy. A customer won’t be able to actually read the language of the “policy”; one assumes the policy does actually exist on the corporate side. I have always liked Crate and Barrel and as a customer would prefer to view the policy in print. There is a price match policy available on their website that savvy shoppers may want to keep in mind for future shopping.
Crate And Barrel Promo Code
As with many retailers who have a brick and mortar presence, along with an on line store; there is a definite way of ordering to ensure the best savings for your wallet. Why pay full price if you don’t have to!
New email subscribers can navigate to the Crate and Barrel website to sign up for email news and offers. A crate and barrel promo code will be given for 10% off; exclusions do apply so check the language.
Swagbucks And Crate And Barrel Stores
If you are a member of Swagbucks (membership is free!), you can earn 1 swagbucks for every $1.00 spent which is 1% cash back. For those not familiar with Swagbucks, this is a site I highly recommend for online purchases. Check out what Swagbucks has to offer and their rewards program here.
It is a very user friendly site – for the Crate and Barrel furniture purchase, I navigated to Swagbucks, opened up the Crate and Barrel site and made my purchases. So I received swagbucks in addition to the crate and barrel savings. The points at Swagbucks can then be redeemed through their rewards program.
